Andrea Scannell

MOMally Founder/ Fairy Godmother to new parents

I am a postpartum doula, infant care expert, lactation counselor, FSI-certified sleep consultant, and early parenting coach. I have a Master’s Degree in Education and 10 years of classroom teaching experience. Before that, I worked for years as a nanny and babysitter. Babies and young kids are my people: I get them. I also have 14 years of parenting experience under my belt—my kids are now 6 & 14. I can say without question that that has been my most challenging and rewarding role so far!

Named one of the Best Sleep Consultants in the U.S. by Tuck Sleep and Approved Sleep Consultant by Sleep Advisor, I’m committed to helping parents rest so that they can step out of survival mode and enjoy their babies. While parents of older kids will tell you those baby years just fly by, when you’re not sleeping, the days—well, nights—are very long.

I also focus on helping mothers navigate the difficult emotions and mental health challenges that can come along with motherhood. I’ve completed a comprehensive Maternal Mental Health training at the Seleni Institute in NYC that has allowed me to recognize the signs of postpartum or prenatal depression, anxiety, OCD, panic, and/or post-traumatic stress disorder and provide referrals to a mental health professional specializing in these areas.

My mission is to help parents find greater confidence by passing along my knowledge, experience, and unwavering support. So many of us go into parenthood with the expectation that breastfeeding will come naturally or that our babies will eventually learn to sleep. In reality, sleep and feeding are two of the biggest challenges for new parents—and just when you think you’re in the clear, you’ll be rewarded with some epic toddler tantrums! The great news is that you can do something about all of these issues, and the even better news is that you don’t have to do it alone.
